Crawshays Impressive Display overcomes Portugal opposition

Crawshays Welsh RFC has chosen Portugal to visit for their annual end of season rugby tour. The club decided to tour in 2008 to this country after Portugal´s impressive and brave display at the Rugby World Cup 07 in France. For Portuguese rugby it was an opportunity to see one of the most prestigious invitational club sides in the world. Crawshays normally play in their sides a mix of seasoned internationals, and promising youngsters. Many Wales rugby legends have played for them,including JPR Williams, Phil Bennett and Jonathan Davies.
The club arrived in Portugal on the 20th of May and stayed accommodated in a hotel near the sea coastal resort of the Estoril. During their rugby tour to Portugal Crawshays played two matches against Portugal´s 2008 champions Belenenses and a second match against a Portuguese Club Select XV. In their second match of the tour Crawshays put their most impressive display against an enthusiastic and wholehearted Portuguese. The whole squad produced some breathtaking skills which brought hat tricks for wingers Jamie Jones and Alec Jenkins as well as 2 tries from No 8 Hywel Jenkins.
