This conventional Par-72 course opened in the year 2000, although the completely refurbished back nine holes " formerly part of the 27-hole Laguna Course - had been completed in their original configuration a decade before.
The refurbishment and the totally new outward half were both designed by renowned golf architects, Hawtree & Sons, and although the two nines have some contrasting features they were expertly blended together, creating a harmonious layout.
Holes 3 to 7 meander through natural pinewoods, not dissimilar to parts of "The Old Course" and Pinhal Course in Vilamoura, offering attractive scenery especially when the long early morning or late afternoon shadows spread across the bright green fairways.
The remaining holes are more exposed, but to complement the formerly existing trees numerous others of several species have been planted. Once these are well established they will afford protection from the fickle Atlantic breezes that make this course even more interesting.
The spacious clubhouse, renovated for the opening of the Millennium Golf Course, also services the adjacent Laguna course.
