February 28th 2014 saw the CN Chalon Swimming Team (France) heading to
Portugal (Coimbra) for a 10 day swimming training camp. For some in the
group this was the first time attending such a camp. For the Club Head
Coaches technical advancement was high on the list of priorities during
their swimming camp at the Coimbra swimming complex first class

The Lethbridge College (Alberta, Canada) Men´s Soccer Team arrived
yesterday (15 Feb) in Portugal for a 10 day tour of Portugal. The trip
will last from February 15 - 25 and the Lethbridge Kodiacs will train
and play four (4) exhibition games in addition to attending two (2)
professional games. Head Coach Joe Mauro said trips abroad are extremely
beneficial for several reasons. “It gives you a tremendous start to
your season,” said Mauro. “You train a little bit, go on the trip and
take a week off before coming into preseason. You don’t have to worry
about fitness. “And when you go away, the camaraderie and team-building
you gain is tremendous,” added Mauro.

Hudito Hockey Club (Delft, Holland) Womens Team completed today a five (5) days camp in Portugal. The sport of Lacrosse is not often associated with Portugal but soon
that is about to change. On January 09th 2014 the Algarve region in
Portugal saw the arrivals of Haverford College (Philadelphia, USA), the
England National Lacrosse Team, the Spanish and Portuguese National
Lacrosse Teams for an intensive weekend of Lacrosse with a combination
of training and game sessions.

Radley College Boys U17 Football Team
arrived in Portugal on January 02nd for a 4 night football tour of
Portugal, staying at the south shore of Lisbon in a 4 star hotel unit in
Costa da Caparica. The team will participate in two (2) matches against
local Lisbon Club sides and will attend several training sessions with
SL Benfica academy coaches including two training sessions at the
stadium of Light, home of the Champions League Final 2014 (on 24 May).

For the third consecutive year Robertson Elite will be attending a warm weather training camp in Portugal (Algarve). Robertson Elite will be visiting Portugal with a group of athletes (track & cross country) for a two (2) week intensive training camp.

LARNE GS U17 (Northern Ireland) Rugby Team attended a rugby training camp in Portugal from the 17 – 22 of December 2013. LARNE visited the Algarve and Lisbon with the purpose of preparing and running a series of intensive training sessions ahead of The Danske Bank Schools’ Cup taking place in January and February 2014. The Danske Bank Schools’ Cup is always one of the highlights of the Ulster Rugby calendar. In fact The Danske Bank Schools’ Cup is the second oldest rugby competition in the WORLD, it was first staged in 1876! with Royal School Armagh the inaugural winners.
