Lisbon is the best urban tourism destination in the world, and a huge part of its charm is due to it being built along the north bank of the Tagus, a riverfront that stretches for tens of kilometres. For a runner, to run across the Tagus riverfront with absolutely no traffic is a unique opportunity.
Fortunately, for all of those who like to run in such a special urban environment, that opportunity comes every September: it's the Global Energy Race (GER).
GER, created by Bimbo and organized by Move Sports in Portugal, is a special race, not only because it takes place in Lisbon, but for other reasons as well. First of all, it is open to athletes of all ages and all levels of competitiveness, as well as families. Therefore, there is a ten-kilometre run, a five-kilometre walk, and a four-hundred-metre run for kids. GER's diverse competitive levels makes it a fundamental part of the sports calendar for some, and an amazing moment of joy for others.
On the other hand, GER is a solidarity run. In fact, for every kilometre athletes complete, Bimbo donates two slices of bread to a charity. At the same time, GER is also a global race, being held simultaneously in twenty-two cities around the world. Above all, GER is a huge party for all participants, athletes and families, given the large entertainment zone built around the start and finish lines.
At Move Sports, we take special care of an important detail around GER: we make sure that every aspect of all participants relationship with the event, from the registration process to the food court at the entertainment zone, is of the highest quality.
