Spain? Get to know, vibrate with and enjoy it!

Spain is undoubtedly one of the most surprising countries in Europe, a destination where the cultural offer and festive lifestyle stand out.
You will want to share Spain: after all, it's the country of "tapas", the food meant to be shared. It is also an excellent sports and adventure destination, where it is possible to combine several styles of vacations and activities.

The diversity of the Iberian Peninsula

Our neighbouring country on the Iberian Peninsula has many stories to tell and is undoubtedly a must-visit territory in Europe. Spain is known for its joy, its "Movida", and the informality of its people. Spain is made of several autonomous regions and very distinct communities. It is impossible to resist the call to visit the monumental and lively Madrid, with cultural jewels such as the Prado Museum or the Reina Sofía Museum. Or the artistic Barcelona, where the architecture of Gaudí stands out. And let's not forget Andalusia, to the south, with the charming Seville and Malaga as its crown jewels. There is also Galicia, the Basque Country or the Balearic and Canary Islands... Spain is a world in itself, ready to be discovered!

Surfing, trekking, biking and much more

The Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean come together in the south of Spain. This combination, plus the winds born here, provide some of the best places in the country for surfing. In Andalusia, you will be greeted with mild temperatures all year round and over a thousand kilometres of coastline to uncover, with waves for all tastes and levels of expertise. Málaga, Granada, Almeria, Huelva and Tarifa are some of the most exciting areas to explore for this type of sport.

If you are a fan of trekking, there is also a lot of ground to cover: official trekking routes and national parks with stunning natural landscapes are ready to be walked on. Not to be missed are trails such as the Caminito del Rey in Andalusia; the Garganta de Los Infiernos Nature Reserve near the towns of Jerte and Cabezuela del Valle; the Ruta del Cares, the most famous route of the Picos de Europa in Asturias, or the Cami del Ronda, one of the main trails of the Costa Brava near Girona, an hour from Barcelona.

Hiking and biking enthusiasts will be thrilled to find out about the Via Verdes (or "greenways"), a gift for these sport and nature enthusiasts. These are primarily former railroads that have been transformed for walking or cycling along. Throughout the country, there are more than 3.100 kilometres to conquer over more than 120 routes. With gentle slopes and perfect signalling, these routes are ideal for getting to know the territory's fauna and flora. Among the most emblematic are the Vía Verde de Ojos Negros in Teruel, Castellón, and Valencia; the Vía Verde del Aceite y Subbética in Jaén and Córdoba; the Vía Verde del Tajuña in Madrid; the Vía Verde de Alcaraz in Albacete; and the Vía Verde de la Sierra in Cádiz.
