A walk down memory lane - while looking at the future

In this time of uncertainty for the sports sector, at a moment when we don't know what tomorrow will look like, we recall with great satisfaction some of the feedback that participants of our past tournaments and events gave us about their experience in Portugal.

Our focus is unquestionably on people. We focus sports on its transformative power in young athletes, high-performance athletes and workers in the corporate world so that "a healthy mind in a healthy body" is more than a motto and becomes a reality in the daily lives of all one.

With that said, we were delighted when a first-time coming to Lisbon Football Youth Cup like Minna, team manager for HJK 02 from Finland, told us that "we really enjoyed it. The weather was good, the location of our hotel was perfect, and the tournament was well organized. Please include age group U20 so we can come back!"

For our events to take place in the best way possible, we take everything into consideration, from the weather to the hotels where athletes stay. This influences the time of year and the chosen location for each event. We make sure to look at every detail so that, like Minna, all participants want to return.

Other words we cherish came from Russel Ticehurst, team manager for the Blackheath Rugby Club in England. About Portugal Rugby Youth Festival, he said "we've not participated before, but I'll be recommending this Festival to anyone I speak with when I get back. It's a first-class tournament, strong competition, great organization and fulfilling experience for every member of the Club."

It's always a positive sign when an athlete likes it so much that he's willing and able to spread the word on the excellent experience he had with us. Our goal is for participants to go back home with good memories and good stories to tell about what Move Sports competitions were like!

Even when we're dealing with Portuguese clubs, we aim to provide the best experience through contact and competition with athletes from other countries and competitive realities. International competition enhances teams' development and promotes individual athlete talent.

Joana Carvalho of Sporting Club de Portugal left us a testimony that is encouraging and reassures us that we're on the right track. "Thank you for your warm welcome and for the event's organisation. It was a fantastic opportunity for our players. I believe that the diversity of teams and their distinct levels were very enriching. We would like to participate next year", she said about Lisbon Football Youth Cup.

Looking forward

We thank every participant of our past events for their kind words. In this utterly atypical year, defied by the need to change the way we use to do things, these words are comforting and give us the strength to keep on working on our future tournaments.

Soon it will be possible for all of us to be together again, safely. And believe us, we're working on making this return epic!

We've already adopted health and safety measures in accordance with the best international guidance. Our efforts have been recognised both in Portugal and elsewhere with the Clean & Safe safety stamp (awarded by the Portuguese Tourism Authority) and the Safe Travels global safety stamp (from the World Travel & Tourism Council).

With the necessary health and safety protocols in place, we're moving full steam ahead with the preparations for our autumn tournaments, to take place in warm and sunny Lisbon this coming October: Portugal Rugby Youth Festival, Lisbon Football Youth Cup and Portugal Handball Legends Cup.

Keep safe, keep active and start training to make sure you and your team show up in Lisbon at your best!
