Field Hockey Triumph
In mid-October, we welcomed a prestigious school field hockey team from the United Kingdom. Comprising players aged 16-18 and their coaches, they embarked on a journey blending competitive sport and cultural immersion. Besides engaging in a self-led training session and three friendly matches, the team soaked up local culture with a walking tour of Lisbon and surf lessons in Carcavelos. Their stay at a partner hotel with half-board provisions, complemented by our Liaison Officer’s assistance and smooth transfers, ensured their focus remained unshaken on both sport and enjoyment.
Youth Hockey's Enriching Journey
A youth hockey team, along with their families, returned to us after a previous successful tour. From October 22nd to the 25th, a group of over 70 people experienced the charm of Porto, adjusting their schedule dynamically due to weather conditions, which led them to discover Braga and Guimarães as well. They stayed at a partner Hotel, enjoying the full-board hospitality that catered perfectly to their needs. The feedback from their club captain encapsulates their experience: "The team at Move Sports were excellent and made sure we had a fantastic hockey tour to Porto. Communication during the build-up was brilliant, very proactive and responsive, and the itinerary worked very well, in spite of some changes due to the weather. Rugby Adventure
This tour took place from October 20th to 24th, bringing 45 participants to the shores of Portugal. With two rugby teams in the U15 and U16 categories, they faced four opponents in two matches each. Their itinerary was rich with activities including a stadium tour, surfing, and even a rugby session on the beach. Their stay at a partner hotel and the cultural engagement was deepened with a traditional meal that some heralded as "some of the best Portuguese food." The Club Head of Rugby shared: "I just wanted to say a huge ‘thank you’ for all that you did to ensure that our tour was such a success. The lads had an amazing time that hopefully will live with them for a lifetime. You went above and beyond our expectations and it was great to meet you and spend time with you. It was ‘top’!!"
October was a month of vibrant storytelling through sports, with teams from the UK experiencing Portugal's warmth, both in hospitality and competition.
