September is here, and with it comes the end of summer’s bittersweet farewell. After a spectacular vacation season, routines are coming back and soon the cold days will arrive. But before they are here, we have an invitation for you: how about saying goodbye to the summer season with a nice swim? We leave you some suggestions for the last dive of the summer of 2022.
For those who prefer beaches and the ocean, here are some ideas very close to Lisbon, where you are guaranteed to enjoy a nice dive.
São Julião Beach, in Mafra
Located 45 km from Lisbon, São Julião’s beach is right at the end of the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park. A short leap from Ericeira, where you can always enjoy a great lunch
Portinho da Arrábida, in Setúbal
Now we are talking about warmer waters, perfect for diving, and with that Thai beach look & feel. Portinho da Arrábida is the perfect combination of sea and mountains. In the middle of the Arrábida Natural Park (Portugal is full of Natural Parks), it is 46 km away from Lisbon, and it is a beautiful walk for any day of the week.
Tróia
Going to Tróia is a worthwhile adventure. There are lots of ways to get there, but the most fun is to take the ferry boat across the river Sado in Setúbal. The beach of Tróia is one of the most beautiful in the country, and if you are very lucky you might see a dolphin passing by! Is there a better place for a swim?
For those who like natural pools, usually in the middle of nature, they allow you to perceive the wild beauty that surrounds you while swimming in chlorine-free water.
Penedo Furado Beach
With little depth, it is ideal for family programs, although the beach is also quite requested by campers. At its highest point, there is an imposing rock with an enormous, tapered opening, which gives the beach its name and where the Penedo Furado Viewpoint was created. This beach is located around 164 km away from Lisbon
Mourão River Cascade
This waterfall is located very close to the town of Sintra and the city of Lisbon. With a natural pool, protected by dense vegetation and rocky outcrops, perfect for spreading out your towel and bathing.
And how to make this dive even better? Do it in the company of family or friends. And take the occasion to immortalize the moment with a photograph. Have a good dive!
