Rugby history is often remembered through individual moments: a drop goal in a final, a winger breaking through a defensive line, a captain lifting a trophy or an unexpected result that changes a tournament.

Statistics tell a different version of the same story.

Every sporting generation has a moment when the future starts to become visible.

It does not always happen through one spectacular final or one record-breaking performance.

The 18th edition of the Dove Men+Care Portugal Rugby Youth Festival, organised by Move Sports, once again brought together the global rugby community in Lisbon for a weekend defined by competition, connection and shared experience.

Across two intense and vibrant days, the festival welcomed around 3,400 athletes, representing 119 teams from 12 countries: Portugal, Wales, Gibraltar, Belgium, the United States of America, the United Arab Emirates, Canada, New Zealand, Spain, Scotland, Ireland and England.

There is a moment, usually early on a Saturday morning, when the first teams step onto the pitch. Flags are visible. Different languages echo across the venue. Coaches exchange greetings. Players look around and realise this is something bigger than a regular fixture.

That moment is never accidental.
