Some periods in the calendar make the scale and diversity of sports tourism particularly visible.

For Move Sports, June and the beginning of July were exactly that: a concentrated period of international tournaments, sports tours, different age groups, different sports and teams travelling to Portugal from across the world.

For many years, sports tourism was often associated with youth teams, elite training camps or professional clubs preparing for the season ahead. Young athletes travelled to compete internationally, academies searched for new experiences, and senior professional teams looked for high-quality facilities in favourable conditions.

Some weeks are a clear reminder of what sports event organisation really involves.

Not because there is one major event taking place, but because several different projects are happening at the same time, in different locations, with different audiences and different needs. This is one of those weeks for Move Sports.

As the 2025/26 football season approaches its conclusion, Europe’s football landscape is once again being shaped by title races, continental battles and the familiar mixture of celebration, tension and anticipation that defines this stage of the year.

Some domestic champions have already been crowned. Elsewhere, title races remain open until the final weeks. Across Europe, UEFA competitions continue to dominate headlines, while attention is also beginning to shift toward the FIFA World Cup 2026, now only weeks away.
